The town of New Alresford is on the A31, seven miles to the east of Winchester. Entry to the Watercress Festival is free.
FESTIVAL PARK & RIDE (by rail or luxury coach)
The festival is operating a park and ride service (a parking charge of £5 per car will apply) from Ropley to Alresford and back for festival goers. From the parking field next to Ropley station either take a free ride on the Mid Hants Railway 'Watercress Line' or, during peak times, a free luxury coach ride into Alresford. The railway will be operating both steam and diesel trains and so travel on the steam trains cannot be guaranteed. The park and ride service will run all day from 0845 to 1730hrs, with trains departing every 20/30 mins and coaches departing every 15 mins from 0930 to 1600hrs only. 'Free Festival Travel' tickets will be issued at Ropley car park and will be required for travel to and from the festival on both the trains and coaches. If you wish to travel the rest of the 'Watercress Line' on the day, Mid Hants Railway fares will apply. NB Ropley car park is not suitable for disabled festival goers.

BY STAGECOACH HAMPSHIRE BUSES
The festival is held on a Sunday and bus routes are altered due to the road closures in the town centre. On the day of the festival, Stagecoach buses in both directions will enter Alresford via The Avenue and Pound Hill and turn right into Jacklyn's Lane and then right again into Spring Gardens and right again into New Farm Road, then turning left back onto The Avenue and back down to the A31. This means the bus is doing a clockwise loop each time. Stagecoach expect this may add 5 minutes to each journey, so you might expect possible delays. Please check with Stagecoach for timetable and route details.
