All of Alresford Behind Festival
14th April 2008
Alresford Rugby Club
Helping as event stewards, with thanks also to Paul Rees for assistance with the World Watercress Eating Championships!
Formed in 1991, the club consisted of a single, senior team of XV players for the first season. It then expanded into two teams and gained promotion through the Hampshire Leagues to gain Hampshire League 1 in 2004.
New young enthusiastic players have since joined a nucleus of seasoned players with the aim of helping the team get back to those lofty heights! The club currently plays in Bighton and enjoys the use of changing and social facilities at Arlebury Park in Alresford, although it is the aim to achieve pitches in Alresford itself so that the club may be opened up to provide rugby at youth level. Training is on Tuesday evenings in Bighton from 7.15pm – do pop up and join us! Contact: www.alresfordrfc.org
The Alresford & Cheriton Scout Group
Helping to keep the festival area clean and tidy!
The Alresford & Cheriton Scout Group is based in the Scout Hut, off Bridge Road, and has a long history of providing the young people of Alresford and surrounding districts with a vibrant and energetic programme of activities focusing on outdoor pursuits, fun and friendship. Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes. The Club is always keen to hear from adults who have time to volunteer to work with the group.
