FESTIVAL A HUGE SUCCESS! - posted 04/06/2010

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made the 7th Alresford Watercress Festival such a magnificent success last Sunday! From the volunteers who organised and ran it to the food producers, chefs, market traders, musicians, morris dancers, entertainers and school children who created it, the sponsors who supported it and to the thousands of you who came along to enjoy it! In the typically springtime sunshine and showers we received somewhere in the region of 12,000 visitors to our little market town, everyone keen to find out more about our famous crop and taste the myriad of recipes into which heart, soul and inspiration had been poured. We hope that you found delight in our festival, our town and our watercress!

We look forward to seeing you again on the 15th May 2011.

Kidsrome Mobile Farm Coming in 2010 - posted 09/03/2010

Kidsrome are goingto bring their children's mobile farm to entertain and educate young and old at the festival.  This "farm on the mooove" is designed to help children develop an understanding of the animals and why they are farmed. This will be a rare opportunity for children to get up close to a range of farm animals including a pony, donkey, cow, sheep, rabbits and chickens, and to talk to a farmer about them.
