Zoltan Kover is Head Chef The Rose and Crown Farringdon

 

Zoltan has been a chef for over 20 years.  He is from Hungary where he learnt his trade initially as a pastry chef which is where his passion still lies and he enjoys creating visually stunning, delicious desserts, cakes and gateaux.  Zoltan moved to the UK in 2006 and since then has worked in a number of top-class gastro pubs and restaurants specialising in local, fresh, seasonal ingredients. 

 

Zoltan Joined The Rose & Crown Farringdon as Head Chef one month after it re-opened under new ownership and management in January 2018 and since then the pub has gone from strength to strength.  Zoltan’s menus offer unpretentious, traditional classics often with a Hungarian twist.  He insists on making as much as possible from scratch and customers come from far and wide to enjoy his wonderful secret recipe Steak Pie. 

 

At home, his family and friends benefit from his own recipe sausages on the BBQ!  Perhaps they will soon be on the summer menu at The Rose & Crown.

 

Zoltan will be cooking a smoked haddock and watercress tart and a cheese and watercress souffle
