MANOR FARM IS OPEN FOR 1 DAY ONLY
If you’ve ever wondered what a watercress farm looks like, here’s your chance to have a guided tour around Manor Farm, owned by The Watercress Company, the UK’s biggest grower of watercress with over 50 acres of watercress beds split between Hampshire and Dorset.
Tours and demo information areas will run throughout the day with The Watercress Company’s MD Tom Amery, and a team of extremely skilled growers who manage farms throughout the year, and can answer every question you have regarding growing, environmental and the health giving properties of Wonderous Watercress….
For guests arriving on foot a £2 per person donation will be requested at the gate, or for the first time in festival history the farm will be offering parking. A fee of £15 per car will include the tour, a shuttle service to/ from the festival and all proceeds will go towards Abbeys Heroes. There will be entertainment, music, information displays and the chance to get involved with bunching.
WALKING ROUTE
Walking route from the festival - approx 12-15min walk from the bottom of Broad Street. There will be signs however it's a straight forward route:
- Walk down Broad Street towards the Cookery Theatre.
- At Cookery Theatre veer left straight onto Mill Hill
- Keep straight on - past some old watercress beds
- Heading towards Abbotstone Rd (there will be parking marshals in this area known as the "Triangle")
- Continue straight onto B3046 stay on the path on the left hand side - passing the church which will be on your right hand side. At this point you will need to cross the road where the footpath continues.
- Just after the Old Alresford sign you will need to cross back over to The Green - there will be signs to help you.
- At The Green take the track to the left hand side, keeping the play area on your right take a slight left into Manor Farm.
- Signs and volunteers will help you and you may see the yellow bus shuttling up and down.
SHUTTLE BUS
There will be a shuttle bus operating between Manor Farm and The Globe at the bottom of Broad Street.
Make sure you get on the right bus as the car park shuttle to Hollingbery Field will also operate from here!

Due to the mixed nature of the farm’s terrain, unfortunately the tour is not suitable for anyone without full mobility. Sensible shoes must be worn.

Sadly no dogs are permitted as this is a food preparation environment.
