Luke Emmess is Head Chef at the The Wykeham Arms, a renowned 2AA Rosette pub and hotel in Winchester. Having joined the team in 2020, Luke has built a reputation for refined pub cuisine that combines strong classical foundations with modern flair. His cooking celebrates quality ingredients and careful technique, reflecting more than a decade of experience working in professional kitchens and rising through the ranks to become a head chef at a young age.


Luke recently gained national recognition after competing on MasterChef: The Professionals, where he impressed judges Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti with his creativity, technical skill and bold flavour combinations, progressing through to the Knock Out Week stage of the competition. Originally from Portsmouth and now living in Hampshire with his wife and four children, Luke’s passion for cooking began at South Downs College and has grown into a career defined by ambition, craftsmanship and a love of creating memorable dining experiences.
